Also had a little mess round with the Linden scripting language, this simple script makes an object 'say something' in this instance 'what is the craic Shaun!? upon being 'touched' allowing me to trigger a basic event.
I then set about creating a basic car and a scipt to allow it to go. one of the key elements of this is linking [parenting ala maya] tools>link and setting the root prim. I also set it up so that upon starting a 'car sound' would load from the libary!
